Monday, February 23, 2009 race to space
This week starts a race to space! Over the next few weeks, we have several NASA and Challenger Learning Center videoconferences lined up. There are a couple of e-Missions from the Challenger Learning Center in West Virginia scheduled for this week, as well as one live program from CSD called The Body in Space, presented by the Challenger Learning Center St. Louis. Next week, students in the St. Louis area will learn about Living and Working in Space as well as Humans in Space. At the end of March, America’s Space Center and a special NASA videoconference on Mapping the Moon with WALL-E is scheduled. What’s your favorite space videoconference?

Last weekend, author Amy Sklansky (and New Links content provider) had a book reading for her seventh book, Out of This World: Poems and Facts about Space. She shared poems and asked the audience questions about space. Also in attendence was Robert Powell from the Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis (hey, another New Links content provider…. wonder how those two met?!). Robert spoke to the group about the
Challenger Learning Centers, about living & working in space, and he too answered questions from the crowd.
