Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis partners with The Princeton Review annually to bring ACT prep courses to high school students over interactive H323 videoconference.

Here’s some information on The Princeton Review, who provides instructors for the vc class:

  • All instructors have scored in the top percentiles of the test and demonstrated excellent test-taking abilities.
  • Instructors explain concepts tested on the exams and teach proven test-taking techniques.
  • All teachers demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and they must have engaging personalities. This translates to interesting and well-taught classes, and better prepared students.
  • Teachers complete a comprehensive Princeton Review training, during which they learn test content and are taught how to best convey techniques that will improve your score.
  • The Princeton Review has developed a number of standardized test taking strategies proven to help students improve their scores.
  • All Princeton Review teachers have mastered the content of the tests and our techniques – plus, they are experts at teaching them to students.
  • All lessons are focused on beating the ACT- The Princeton Review spends millions of dollars studying the ACT, developing ACT materials and training teachers to teach the test.

We’re very pleased to share that many students participating in the last ACT Prep over videoconference class significantly raised their practice test scores- in one case, a student raised her over all score eight points! During the five week course (taught by a Princeton Review instructor), participating students took three practice tests, one before the class started, the second during the middle of the course, and the third at the end of the course- one week before the real ACT. Students were able to see their scores within a few days of taking the test to see their strengths and weaknesses. They also had twenty hours seat time with the instructor, and they were also able to email him between videoconference connections with questions. Homework was assigned as well, and tips and tricks were given for mastering the standardized test. Sound like something you are interested in?? We will be offering an ACT prep class for the February ACT- look out for those dates on this blog!

our instructor speaks to students across town and across the state

Cooperating School Districts and The Princeton Review’s ACT Prep course over videoconference started this week. We have two participating sites, Oakville High and Kennett High. The students meet twice a week for five weeks in two hour increments. They also take three practice tests throughout the course. The Princeton Review instructor teaches live from CSD and utilizes the SMART Board and document camera in the distance learning room.

We offer this course before every ACT. We need at least 50 students at all sites for the class to run. Look for posts- soon- on future class schedules.
