The Connected Classroom

Information on and from Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis' Learning Division

Think outside the book with thousands of educators from all over the world as we connect during this unique professional development experience on Saturday, April 21st! We are pleased to welcome Discovery Education’s Jason Altman onsite to Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis. Jason will bring his expertise and knowledge of DE Assessment. What is the difference between formative and summative assessment? How can I integrate authentic assessment into every day teaching strategies? Jason has the answers!

Besides Jason, we have our very own MO DEN Leadership Council share even moreĀ  knowledge & support at this free event. Cindy Lane will be on hand to answer your questions about DE and using it in the classroom! Melissa Robison and Margie Rogers will host an iPad learning session. You will learn how to use your iPad with the Discovery Education website. The Virtual Learning Center’s Stephanie Madlinger andĀ Megan Moncure will share strategies for using social media resources within the DEN and Twitter. Besides playing the videos for your students, learn what else can you do with the video segments, images and sound effects. Did you know you can organize your resources and differentiate instruction through the Student Center?

Come learn powerful ways to integrate digital media and Web 2.0 tools into your instruction as well as discover an abundance of resources to expand your own Personal Learning Network (PLN).

Breakfast refreshments and lunch will be provided for all attendees at this free day of learning! Please feel free to bring your own laptops, iPads, cell phones or other mobile devices and their chargers!
