Last weekend, author Amy Sklansky (and New Links content provider) had a book reading for her seventh book, Out of This World: Poems and Facts about Space. She shared poems and asked the audience questions about space. Also in attendence was Robert Powell from the Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis (hey, another New Links content provider…. wonder how those two met?!). Robert spoke to the group about the
Challenger Learning Centers, about living & working in space, and he too answered questions from the crowd.
This Discovery workshop, lead by Stephanie Madlinger, is for dynamic educators who are enthusiastic about designing lesson activities to increase student engagement and participation. Learn how Discovery Education streaming digital media resources can be used with your interactive whiteboards. Engage today’s learner by using images, videos, and audio files with your IWB lessons and by creating multimedia projects with your students. Participants will learn how to integrate DE streaming digital media into a variety of applications such as SMART Notebook, Promethean Flipchart, Moodle, Glogster, VoiceThread, Animoto and more. Skills covered can be applied to any subject area and any grade level!
Throughout your time at CSD’s tele, you’ll discover ways to develop curriculum-based digital media projects and lessons with DE streaming resources. We will touch on copyright compliance issues, practice finding images and music, create voice-overs using SMART & Promethean recorders, and the free download, Audacity.
