A lot of distance learning content providers are now offering their videoconferences in Spanish as well as English. Here’s a short list of many available programs:

Elementary

  • My Amazing Body IN ENGLISH OR SPANISH In this interactive program, The Discovery Center Springfield will touch on bones, brains, muscles + more as young learners explore human anatomy & healthy habits.
  • Animales en Espanol Que bueno! Join the Indianapolis Zoo for a new way to learn about animals and practice Spanish speaking skills at the same time! We’ll learn vocabulary and fun animal facts in Spanish (and English).
  • Puerto Rico! La Isla Del Encanto – The Island of Enchantment (English or Spanish) Students will learn basic words in the Spanish language, greetings, and “refranes” which are Spanish Proverbs or sayings from South Central Kansas Education Service Center-The Service Center at Clearwater. They will also discuss native dances, the tiny tree frog, Old San Juan, Pigeon’s Park, The Fortress, and Three Kings Day.

High School

  • ¡Te Toca A Ti! is a Spanish language competition videoconference in which student teams compete. With works of art as visual prompts, participants practice their speaking skills by using complete sentences to describe and respond to what they see. This is an ideal extension to the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Spanish Art program or can be used as a stand-alone activity to enhance conversational ability.
  • Great Moments in Rock and Roll: Popular Music Through the Decades Take a journey with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum through the second half of the twentieth century by exploring some of the great moments in rock and roll history. Students will actively participate in discussions about shifting cultural values, conceptions of equality, and political activism. This class is offered in English or Spanish (Se ofrece este curso en inglés o castellano).
