My teachers ask me- a lot- about free videoconferences.  Of course, I tell them about the government agencies that do them, like NARA, NASA, the Smithsonian. Of  course, because they are free, and well done, the book fast. I also share with my teachers different collaborative projects out there.  However, our colleague in Texas, Roxanne Glaser (with Paula Yezak), has put together wiki with a list of “virtually free” videoconferences- virtual field trips, collaborative projects, etc. - all in one place!!  Some of the programs do have a fee associated with them, but as Roxanne (VC ROX! put it, they are easy on the budget. Thanks for putting this together, and sharing!  http://vcrox.pbwiki.com/Virtually+Free

Also included on the wiki are supportive technologies like Flickr and Skype- and what to use them for; blogs of interest; listservs.

Thanks for the link…there are a couple of good deals in the “easy on the pocket” section that Paula found out.
