Wednesday, July 18, 2007 ACT prep over v/c
Our Princeton Review ACT class back for the fall! It’s 20 hours of instruction over interactive videoconference and students learn concepts and skills to master the ACT. Three real ACT practice tests give students the opportunity to practice what they learn and track their improvement during the five week course. Registration deadline for the this class is Friday, August 31. Contact the VLC for more details on registration and fees!
Dates of the videoconference classes leading up to the October 27, 2007 ACT test date are as follows: Mondays and Wednesdays, September 24 thru October 24 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Students will participate in the class from their own schools, using distance learning technology, with a site facilitator on hand. In St. Louis, this class is very popular in the fall- right when seniors and their parents start to think about impending college admissions!

Our school is using PrepMe.com’s online course for the ACT with live online tutoring. Have you considered it? They are based in Chicago.

I have not heard of it. The Virtual Learning Center of Cooperating School Districts, where I work, has a videoconference division called New Links to New Learning. One of the programs we offer is the ACT prep course that is a partnership with The Princeton Review – it is 10 classes that meet over videoconference for interactive class sessions. A trained Princeton Review instructor teaches the class as (s)he would in a regular classroom setting, only reaching students at several different sites- many schools in different regions. We currently offer the class for $125/ student for all 10 sessions, plus the three practice tests throughout- beginning, middle & end of the course. My job in the VLC is to coordinate videoconferences of all types, from test prep to collaborative projects to virtual field trips- so I am not familiar with a lot of alternative test prep courses. Thanks for taking the time to read the blog and offer your comment.
